WHAT IS VALUESADVISOR? 

ValuesAdvisor, a nonprofit, is an online database of financial advisors who have an expertise in aligning your investments with your values. All have been recommended by the members of our partners: individual investors, foundations, and institutional investors. The ValuesAdvisor website also serves as an educational resource for investors to learn about the sustainable investing field.

HOW ARE THE ADVISORS VETTED

To be eligible for the ValuesAdvisor platform, advisors must:

  • Be recommended by a member of a ValuesAdvisor Partner.
  • Have approximately 25% or more of assets under management be values aligned.
  • Have a minimum of three years of experience offering values aligned investment services.

WHAT IS A FINANCIAL ADVISOR? 

Financial Advisors are hired to manage your "investable assets" (i.e. cash, money market accounts, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, retirement accounts, and trusts), to help you reach your long and short-term financial goals. Typically, you need approximately $250,000 in investable assets but it can be advisable to work with one if you experience a major life transition. The advisors on the ValuesAdvisor platform have the range of minimum account size requirements of $250,000 to $25 million.

If working with an advisor isn't right for you, Invest Your Values enables research of mutual funds.  Robo-Advisors, digital investing services that automatically allocate your investments based on your individual values, are also an option.
